Mackie Esko Rivers

BURLINGTON - Mackie Esko Rivers, 70, died Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Alamance County, retired as a painting contractor and from his lawn service and a member of Glen Raven Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jones Rivers and Jennie Wadell Rivers Rayle; brothers, Charlie and Raymond Rivers; and sister, Betsy Crumpton. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bonnie Smith Rivers, of the home; sons, Tommy and Carolyn Rivers of Gibsonville, Robbie and Kelly Rivers of Burlington; grandson, Spencer Rivers of Burlington; canine companion, Chico; brother, Bobby and Sue Rivers; sister, Virginia Norwood. A service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Pastor Bobby Fann and Pastor Sean Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham Saturday, May 2, 2015, from 5 to 7 p.m. and at other times at the residence.
