Mae Cranford Morton

Mrs. Mae Cranford Morton, 86, of Burlington, NC passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the Peak Recourses of Alamance in Graham. A native of Cabarrus County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Alma Harris Cranford. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. Her joy in life was her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving is her son, Danny Morton and wife Carlene, of Mebane; daughters, Anita Beaber and husband Mark, of Graham, Sheena Dickey and husband Robert, of Elon, Jane Carroll and husband Billy, Snow Camp, and Rosalind “Smokey” Morton and husband Charles, of Snow Camp; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; sisters, Lynn Barbee, of Concord and Joyce Mullis, of VA and many loving brother and sister-in-law’s and loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herman Morton, daughter, Monica Louise Morton; son, James Derek Morton Sr. and her beloved brothers and sisters. A funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday June 6, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with her grandson, Rev. David Morton officiating. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at McClure Funeral Home and other times at the residence of her daughter Anita at 402 West Elm Street, Graham, NC.
