Burlington Maggie Sue Ragan King, 89, a former resident of Sprngview Assisted Living went home to be with her Lord 4:00 AM Saturday, October 4 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. She was born July 20, 1925 in the mill village of Glencoe. She was loved by all who knew her. She always displayed a sweet spirit with a personality that would always make you laugh. She loved to share old stories of her younger years. She was a member of Tri City Baptist Church and previously City Lake Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was gifted with a beautiful tenor voice and could play the accordion and guitar. She was retired from Collins and Aikman and worked for Roses for Several years. She is survived by her brother, Bobby Ragan and wife Leona; step children, David King and wife Fran, Janet Hughes, Clyde King and wife Ella and Doug King and wife Pat; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Luther M. King; sisters, Myrtle Capps, Ollie Mae Ragan, Betty Allred and Josephine Truitt; brothers, Haywood Ragan and Johnny Ragan. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham conducted by Rev. Reid Dickens. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 – 1:00 before the service. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of Springwood Assisted Living and the Hospice Home for the love and care given to Mrs. King.
