BURLINGTON - Mrs. Maggie Virginia Westmoreland Spencer, 93, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, May 4, 2014.She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church for 61 years, where she was involved in teaching adult and children's Sunday School, Girls in Action leader, nursery worker, a member of the Women's Missionary Union and a Senior Choir member. She formerly worked at Haw River Remnant Shop.She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Hubbard Garlen Spencer, of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Bradley of the home, Sylvia Seawell of Gastonia, N.C. and Cynthia Burrell of Burlington; grandchildren, Jeffrey Isley of Concord, N.C., Allen Isley of Denver, Colo., Luana Roberson of Mebane, Destry Bradley of Mebane, Michael Burrell of Kernersville, Emily Seawell of Greensboro and John Seawell of Gastonia, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; three great-stepgrandchildren; son in law, Allen D. Isley of Snow Camp; sister, Orene Marsh; and brother, Wayne Westmoreland.She was preceded in death by her parents, father, Edward Cleveland Westmoreland, mother, Mary Virginia Puckett Westmoreland and stepmother, Viola Whitaker Westmoreland; daughter, Marian Isley; brothers, Lawrence Westmoreland, Carl Westmoreland, Kenneth Westmoreland, Grover Westmoreland and Cecil Westmoreland; sisters, Jane Jones and Iris Shaw.The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McClure Funeral Service in Graham, 1030 S. Main Street. A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 8th, at Glen Hope Baptist Church in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Larry Redding, assisted by the Rev. Jim Wrenn and the Rev. Travis Russell.
