Marcelle Allen Bulla

Marcelle Allen Bulla, 88, wife of Robert Donald Bulla, passed peacefully on February 21, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville TN. She had recently been hospitalized due to stroke and complications from kidney disease. Mrs. Bulla was born on October 5, 1928 to Clyde and Cora Allen of Snow Camp, NC and was a longtime resident of Graham, NC. She and husband Don resided on East Harden St. until recently. After attending Raleigh School of Commerce, she had a long career as an executive secretary beginning with Standard Hosiery Mill in Burlington and later with AT&T. Early in her career, while her children were young, she managed the family business operations for Bulla Tire Service and Exxon on Harden St. in Graham. She retired in 1993 from the AT&T sonar defense contract division in Greensboro, NC. Marcelle had a passion for genealogy and scrapbooking. She was an avid reader and follower of politics, the daily news, and the TV shows “Survivor” and “Shark Tank.” She is survived by her husband Don; her daughter and son-in-law Denise and Mike Heckman; her son and daughter-in-law Wesley and Deborah Bulla; her sister Margaret Loy; her brother and sister-in-law Mardene and Sherry Allen; sister-in-law Anne Allen; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her caregiver Benita Shaw and therapist Michael Rodowski. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Bobby and Morris Allen; and granddaughter Erica Bulla Roark. There will be a family and friends’ visitation the morning of Saturday, March 4, 2017, 12:00-2:00p at McClure Funeral Service, 1030 S. Main St., Graham, NC followed by a graveside service at 2:30p at Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church Cemetery on Rock Creek Rd., Graham, NC. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marcelle’s life.
