Marchetta Mcconnell Young

Mrs. Marchetta McConnell Young, 77 of Gibsonville, passed away on January 20, 2021 at her residence. A native of Cherokee Co, OK, she was the daughter of the late Brownie and Audrey Seacrest McConnell. She was a proud member of The Order of The Eastern Star. She had worked at Eastern Guilford High School in the cafeteria for a number of years and then became the special needs bus driver which she cherished so much and the children she looked after. She was known for always putting others needs above her own and nothing made her more happy than spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her loving daughter, Debbie Johnson; her sons, Tim (Beverly) Young, Billy Young, Keith (DeAnne) Young; grandchildren, Shawn (Jacqueline) Johnson, Brandon (Nikki) Johnson, Kaelyn (David) Simmons, Cameron Young, Amaris Young, Silas Young, Grant Madren, Logan Madren, Brittney Barker-Jones, Kelsey Jones; 6 loving great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Edward Young her son, Donnie D. Jones; a grandson, Joseph Johnson and brothers, Elmer and Jerry McConnell. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday January 24, 2021 at the Gibsonville City Cemetery. The family will visit with friends and family 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery on Sunday and other times at the residence of the family.
