Margaret Chappell Allen

Margaret C. Allen went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2026. She was a life resident of Burlington, North Carolina. She died of failing health since October 2025 after several falls. Margaret was the daughter of the late Lonnie P. Chappell and Myrtle Easter Chappell.

She was survived by her loving husband, Clyde Donald Allen of 62 years; her sister, Doris Shearer, of Florida; her daughters, Donna A Sykes of Virginia and Ginny A Mays (Noah) of Florida; her grandchildren Jon Allen (Adriana), Ashley Logan Parsley (Jesse), and Samantha Mays; and her four great grandchildren, Ryan, Trystan, Levi, and Madisyn Parsley.

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert and Billy Chappell; her sisters, Ruth C. Jones, Annabelle Chappell,  and Fannie Chappell; and her son, Clyde Edward Allen.

Margaret was a cat lover and loved flowers! She worked at Roses in Cum Park Plaza for 32 years when she retired. She also worked at McCray Mini Mart Grill. Margaret was a firm believer in the Lord and was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church for over 20 years.

A service will be held to honor her life on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Deep Creek Baptist Church beginning at 12:00pm. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 10:00am-11:30am. Burial will follow the service at Alamance Memorial Park.
