Margaret Midkiff Walker Moore

MEBANE - Margaret Midkiff Walker Moore, 83, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. She was a native of Charlotte County, Va. and retired from the hosiery industry. She was an avid NASCAR fan and loved to cook and fish. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and there was nothing like granny's biscuits. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Cleveland Moore Jr.; parents, Jessie Ray and Pansy Louise Beasley Midkiff; son, Danny Walker; and brothers, Junior and Cookie Midkiff, Lank, Slim and Clay Duffey; and half sister, Lottie Oldham. She is survived by her children, Tammy Hill, Gary Moore, Joan Cartwright, Linda Craig, Janice Walker, June Durham and Richard Walker; stepdaughter, Lorine Pittard; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8 and at other times at the residence.
