Margariette May

Margariette Farrell was born in Hillsborough, NC on November 7, 1934, the daughter of George Monroe Farrell (1883-1966) and Vennie Elizabeth Honeycutt Farrell (1895-1973). She married her high school sweetheart, Clifton Carl “Jigger” May in 1952. She lived her life, raised her family, had a career and was dearly loved by all who knew her. She was an amazingly strong woman and a role model for all of us to never give up on life. She succumbed to Cancer and died peacefully on Wednesday evening, September 13, 2017. She is survived by her husband Clifton Carl “Jigger” May, Sr., four children Carol Deniese Chaney (Edward L.) of Efland, Clifton Carl May, Jr. (Janice) of Winston-Salem, Frances Elizabeth Carroll (William “Bo”) of Mebane and Donna Marie Stelzenmuller (Alan) of Durham; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her siblings Garnetta Murell Mayes-1914-1998 (Otto), George Monroe Farrell, Jr.-1917-2000 (Ruth Lee Haley), Olen Lloyd Farrell-1919-1968 (Virginia Dare Williams), Elizabeth Rippy-1921-2004 (Carl Herman), Auston David Farrell-1923-1944 (Elaine Pearl Kerley), Frances Marie Carson-1925-1971 (John P. “Ted”), Bobbie Rae Walker-1927-1993 (John Knox) and a twin sister at birth. The family will greet friends and family at McClure Funeral Home, Mebane, NC, on Saturday, September 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening. We are eternally grateful to the physicians, nurses and other caring people who made her last days peaceful and comfortable.
