Margie R. Smith

McLeansville Margie R. Smith, 91,formerly of Burlington and a resident of Ashton Place died there Monday, March 14, 2016. She was a native of Chatham County, and retired from the textile industry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Van Smith; parents, Oscar and Cornie Ray and sister, Maie Suites. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Flynt and Ron Haverland of Gibsonville; son, Billy smith and wife Judy of Snow Camp; grandchildren, Jennifer Musgrove and husband Jeff, Becky Flynt, Hoist Smith and Lynn Smith; great grandchildren, David Caraker, Michael Musgrave and Hunter Smith. A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with burial to follow in Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Silk Hope.
