Marie J. Ashley

Matthews, NC – Marie J. Ashley, 82 of Matthews NC, formerly a resident of Mebane NC died Saturday July 13th, 2019 at Carrington Place, Matthews NC after battling Parkinson’s disease for over 20 years.

A retired hair dresser in Mebane. She was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church.

She was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She enjoyed playing rook, quilting, spending time with her grandchildren, and baking/cooking for her family and friends.

Survivors include:

Sons- Harold J. (Hal) Ashley Jr. of Charlotte, NC and Mark Ashley and wife Tonja of Burlington NC; Grandchildren, Alex, Blake, Alyssa and Nick Ashley; Sister Sarah Tolar and husband John Tolar of Hillsborough NC; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Harold Jones Ashley Sr; Parents Hubert and Rosa Jobe;Sisters – Elaine Adams, Margaret Hicks; Brother – Harlee Jobe.
