Marilyn Merchel Harding, 72, of Hollywood, FL, passed away July 20, 2016 in North Carolina. Visitation will be at 1pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Graham, NC on Tuesday July 26 followed by a Funeral Mass at 2pm and Burial at Mebane Memorial Gardens. Marilyn was born in Geneva, NY on June 24, 1944. She attended Ryder College and later with her husband Mike and their young sons relocated to Pembroke Pines, FL. Marilyn’s greatest joys were her family and friends and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, entertaining and volunteering her time as a Eucharistic Minister and raising money for children’s charities. An accomplished Real Estate Agent; she was also the owner of a Century 21 franchise in South Florida. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mary Britt (Curran), her sister Sally Wilson, first husband Michael Merchel; second husband John “Jack” Harding; sister in law Donna Britt and niece Beth Britt. Marilyn is survived by her brother Harold “Chip” Britt; son Michael (Vicki) Merchel; son John (Dana) Merchel; Son Chris (Jamie) Merchel; Step Daughter Jackie (Robert) Griffin; 6 grandchildren Troy, Corinne, Cayla, Jenna, Zack and Austin; 2 step great grandchildren Rachel and Anthony; 2 nieces Kim Wilson and Amy Bush (Warren). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Cross Hospital Orthopedic Research Fund, Development Department 4725 North Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308 (email: donations@holy-cross.com).
