Marilyn Norris Jeffries Handy

Mrs. Marilyn Elaine Norris Jeffries Handy, 78 of Burlington, NC, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 8, 2017 at her residence into the arms of our Savior. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hulan Sprite and Ercell Bayliff Norris. She was retired from Monarch Hosiery with numerous years of service. She was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church. She never wanted to miss Church and when she had to she always got her family to bring her a recording of service so she never missed out. She was known for her caring and loving spirit and she was devoted to her family. She never met a stranger and had a heart of gold, always putting others above herself at any cost. Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Jeffries, of Burlington and Cheryl Dalton, of Burlington; grandchildren, Heather Burch McIver and husband Jamie, of Gibsonville and Tyler Dalton, of Burlington; great grandchildren, Taylor Cash and husband Michael, Jordyn MacCrae and Brea McIver, all of Gibsonville; brothers, Dan Norris and wife Becky, of Burlington and Larry Norris and wife Littie, of Graham; special son in law, Joey Dalton and many loving extended family members. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, William “Kaiser” Jeffries and Donald Roger Handy; and a sister, Glenda Norris Overby. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday February 12, 2017 at Deep Creek Baptist Church with Mr. Tim Whitlow and Rev. James Moon officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 Saturday February 11, 2017 at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of her daughter, Elaine. The family of Mrs. handy would like to extend a special thank you to Beverly and Ruby of the Alamance/Caswell Hospice for their love and support during this difficult time.
