Mark Howell

Mr. Mark Eugene Howell, 47, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Sunday January 22, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in Durham. He was born on August 20, 1969 in Cabarrus County, NC. Mark was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and the US Army serving two tours in Iraq in the 1st Infantry Division. He was a member of Jackson Park Baptist Church in Kannapolis, NC. He was an avid outdoorsman loving to hunt and fish. He enjoyed spending time on his computer especially when it came to his games and he loved the Carolina Panthers but would always settle for just watching football no matter who was playing. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Hunt Howell, of the home; daughter, Marah Elizabeth Howell, of the home; father and step mother, Tony E. and Rebecca Howell, of China Grove, NC; step daughters, Alissa Wiant, of Mebane and Cheylan Wiant, of the home; granddaughters, Nataleigh, Aubree, and Makenzee; brother, Michael E. Howell and wife Melanie, and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Brown and step father, Harry Poe. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday January 25, 2017 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastors Jeff Cold and Ryan Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home and other times at the residence of the family. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday January 26, 2017 at Salisbury National Cemetery with Military Honors.
