Graham Marshall Edward “Joe” Shelton, 69, of 2013 Payne Road in Graham died Friday, August 1 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. A Native of Person County, he was retired from Majors Construction. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Gail Shelton and his parents, Joseph D. & Virginia Hatcher Shelton. He is survived by his children, Deborah (Gary Odell) Thompson of Graham, Nancy (David) Roach of Graham, Rene (Gary) Rabon of Graham, Eddie (Valeria) Shelton of Siler City, Sherry (Dewey) Ridgeway of Burlington and Sissy (Chris) Smith of Siler City; sisters, Christine Roberson of Roxboro, Cora Cash of Roxboro and Becky Terry of Mississippi; 17 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Trinity Baptist Church by Rev. Tommy Bright. Burial will follow in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 – 2:00 before the service, other times at the residence.
