Marshall Dixon “Red” Smith, 78, of Mebane died Sunday, June 5 at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, He was a native of Alamance County and a retired paving foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Gertrude Shore Smith; first wife, Sylvia Stout Smith and second wife, Linda Wilkerson Smith. And brother, Howard Smith. He is survived by his immediate family, Marshall Kenneth Smith of the home; Raymond Lilly of the home and Kenneth Lilly of the home; brothers, Gene, Roger and Pete Smith; sister, Linda Jenkins A service to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Pastor Noah Albarez The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6:00 – 8:00 Friday evening.
