Mary Sue Amick Pruitt

Mary Sue Amick Pruitt, 87, passed away on January 21, 2020 at her residence. She worked at Ausley’s Florist for a number of years.  She was a member of Gospel Baptist Tabernacle  Church. As a pastor’s wife she always worked in the shadows, never wanting to be in the forefront.  She would always put others before herself and loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Judy Russ (Lloyd) and J. Carol Nemeth (Mark), a son, James Pruitt (Shannon), grandchildren, Matthew Nemeth and Jennifer Yerian (Flint), great grandchildren, Martin, Ava and Gage Yerian, step grandchildren Trevor, Dale and Daniel Singleton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James William Pruitt, parents, Aubrey Von and Flora “Pomona” Johnson Amick, brothers Aubrey Von Amick Jr. and Gordon Gilbert Amick.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 on Thursday January 23, 2020 at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church.  A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday January 24, 2020 at Gospel Baptist Tabernacle Church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
