Mary Lou Oakley

Mary Lou Oakley, 91, of Prospect Hill, went home to heaven, Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2022 at the home of her niece following a long period of declining health.

She was born in Caswell County on July 16, 1931 to Henry A. and Hassie Satterfield Oakley.  She was a high school graduate, she loved crocheting and made many afghans for family and friends. Many of her years were spent farming tobacco. She also was employed by Royal Park Uniforms for many years.  She was a member of Lea Bethel Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for several years.

A graveside remembrance service will be held at Friday, September 2, 2022 at 5:00 at Lea Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The service will be conducted by Tommy Solomon, a long time family friend.

She is survived by one brother John Oakley.  In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by sisters Ruth O. Wilson, Corina Oakley, Rebecca O. Yeatts, Dorothy O. Lunsford, Joann Oakley, Katherine O. Warren, Violet O. Harris and Katie O. Solomon, brothers Henry Oakley, Moses Oakley, Calvin Oakley and Robert Oakley.

She was lovingly cared for many years by her niece. We are very grateful for the wonderful care Mary received from AuthoraCare.  These angels were sent from God to help, providing the most professional and gentle care.  A special thanks to Erica, Joanna, Doritha, Janet, Jeanine and Wanda.
