Mary Lou Rainey Bolick

August 11, 1924 — July 6, 2015

Mrs. Mary Lou Rainey Bolick, 90, of Bob Rainey Trail Burlington, NC, passed away on July 6, 2015 at the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. “Bob” Rainey and Annie King Rainey. She was retired from AT&T and she was a member of the Pioneers Club through AT&T. She was a past member of the Faucette Township Volunteer Fire Department with 8 years of service to her community. As a member of Union Ridge Church, she was a past Sunday school teacher and was a past member of the Fellowship and Hustlers class and a present member of the Flemming Class at the Church. Survivors are her daughters, Annie Paige and husband (Jim), of Burlington and Tonja Lashley and husband Don, of Burlington; sons, Davis Bolick and wife LaRae, of Burlington, and Jeffrey Bolick and wife Debbie, of Burlington; grandchildren, Don Lashley Jr., Malania Smith, Terri Coleman, Lisa Crews, Brandon Bolick, Cassen Bolick, and Peyton Bolick, and 5 great grandchildren; brothers, H. Dean Rainey and wife Libby, of Burlington and Dewey L. Rainey and wife Anna, of Mebane. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Davis “Bill” Bolick Sr.; sisters, Nellie R. ‘Polly” Dixon, Wilma R. Hurdle, Annie R. “Bea” Walker, and Dorothy R. “Dot” Harcum; brothers, William “Bill” Rainey, Robert W. Rainey Jr., Charlie “Red” Rainey, John M. Rainey, and Paul K. “PK” Rainey. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM on Thursday July 9, 2015 at Union Ridge Church with the Rev. Dan Ficklin and the Rev. James L. Rosser officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday, and other times at the residence of the family.
