Mary Kay Truax, 91, of Mebane, NC, formerly of Greenville, SC, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 13, 2014. Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Wilton R. and Rose Bell Kay. She served with her husband, the late Dan Truax, as a missionary in West Africa for three terms, then taught at Tabernacle Christian School while her husband held mission revivals and helped missionaries get to their fields of service. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Sharon Fuqua (David) of Mebane, NC, three sons, Daniel Truax, Jr. (Evelyn) of Greenville, SC; Arthur Truax of Jacksonville, FL, and Douglas Truax (Sheila) of Easley, SC.; 18 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Two brothers: Jack Kay (Myrtle) of Simpsonville, SC, and Rev. Sammy Kay (Ann) of Greenville, SC. Two sisters: Edith Norton of Greenville, SC, and Bobbie Turner (Russell) of the Cayman Islands. She was preceded in death by brothers Ron and Dick Kay, and sister, Betty Rose Powell. Funeral services will be held on July 17 at 2 PM at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, NC with Dr. Melvin Aiken and Dr. Sammy Kay officiating. The viewing will be prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:45 At McClure Funeral Home in Graham. Burial will follow at Hawfields Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Mebane.
