Mary Sue (Utsman) Medlin

Mrs. Mary Sue Utsman Medlin 85, of Hillsborough and Efland passed away on Sunday May 16, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County. A native of Orange Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late George Oscar and Emma Turner Utsman. She was a member of The Church of God in Efland for over 50 years. She was a woman of Faith, loving God, family and friends. She was crafty and creative sewing and making quilts for all her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening and planting her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren and doing artwork, crafts with her great grandchildren and cooking for her family. Survivors include her children, Earl Medlin (Robin) Joyce Medlin, and Mark Medlin, Susan Carden (Ronnie); a son in law-Eugene Broome; a sister, Juanita Sykes; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Earl Medlin (Polie); a daughter, Mandy Broome and her son, Norman Medlin; her sisters, Louise Bryant, Florence Phillips, Betty Lou Lamb and her brothers, Charles and Maynard Utsman. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday May 20, 2021 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastor Deborah Perkins officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday at McClure in Mebane.
