Mr. Matthew Jordan Aulbert, 29, of Mebane passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 at his residence. Matthew was born in Chesterfield, Missouri to Lonnie Wilson Aulbert Jr. and Cherry Escherich Aulbert. Matthew was a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School and a member of the drumline during his time in high school. He then went on to Appalachian State University where he earned a Master’s Degree in Accounting and was a proud alumni of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. Matthew can be remembered as a kind hearted, funny, and smart young man. Matthew enjoyed many things in life, some of which included music, working with computers, the Duke Blue Devils, spending time with his friends, and his beloved dog Riley. All of these things meant a lot to Matthew, but none surpassed the love he had in his heart for his family.
Matthew is survived by his father, Wilson Aulbert Jr, his mom, Karen Rutledge Aulbert, his brothers, Kyle Knodel, Luke Aulbert, and Kurt Knodel, his papa, Don Rutledge and wife Cindy, his grandmother, Elaine and husband Gerald Beuk, his aunts and uncles, Beth Smart, Carla Patillo, Kenny Rutledge, Cid Anderson, Chrystal Coble, and Candace Winchell, his great aunt, Linda Aulbert Courtney, his great uncle, Rodney Aulbert and wife Anne, and close high school friends Britney Vaughn, Sam D’Almada, and Lauren St. Pierre.
Matthew was preceded in death by his mother, Cherry Escherich Aulbert.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM on Monday, November 1, 2021. There will be a funeral service held following the visitation in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel, beginning at 3:00 PM. Burial will be held following the service at Oakwood Cemetery.
The family asks all that are attending if they are able to wear App State colors (black and gold) in honor and celebration of Matthew.
