Matthew “Cakes” Robert Balson, 27, of Greensboro passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at his residence. Matthew was a native of Chicago, ILL . Matthew had a heart of gold and brought smiles everywhere he went. “Some are bound to die young. By dying young a person stays young in people’s hearts and memories. And when he burns so brightly before he dies, his brightness shines for all time.” He is survived by his mother; Kimberly Ledbetter Hamilton of Graham; Father, Daniel Balson; Siblings, Michael Balson, Amy Balson, Emily Balson, and Nathan Hamilton; Maternal grandparents, Allen and Kathryn Ledbetter; Paternal grandmother, Betty Balson. A funeral service to celebrate Matthew’s life with his beautiful soul and kind heart will be held Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham.
