Michael Allen Hinshaw

Michael Allen Hinshaw, Sr., 68, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Friday, July 1st, 2022. He was the son of the late Charlie and Mae Hinshaw. Mike is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hinshaw; son Eric Hinshaw and wife Kendra; granddaughters, Audrey, Mia, and Adley Hinshaw. Other than his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his son, Michael Allen Hinshaw, Jr.

After attending Southern Alamance High School, he worked with the state department of transportation before moving into his career as a first responder. Though out his life, Mike worked with local EMS, Fire, and retiring as a Police Officer.

Mike was a devoted family man who enjoyed the outdoors and competitive shooting. Though out his competitive shooting adventure, he received numerous awards as he excelled in handgun and long-range rifle competitions.  His passion for firearms and the outdoors led he and his wife into constructing and operating Handgunners Inc. and later in life, Hinshaw’s LCID Landfill.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed spending time and joking with family and friends. In addition, he loved tinkering with his “work smart, not harder” inventions and making ideas into reality.

Mike will be truly missed by his beloved family, friends, and those who respected honesty, integrity, and truthfulness in a person.

The family will receive friends Saturday, July 9th from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at McClure Funeral Home located at 1030 South Main Street in Graham, NC.  A service honoring Mike’s life will be held Sunday, July 10th at 2:00 pm at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel.
