Michael Smith

Mr. Michael Vernon “Mike” Smith, 63, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Duke University medical Center. A native of Alamance County, NC, he was the son of the late Vernon and Frances Thompson Smith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. His love was his family especially when it came to his grandchildren and great granddaughter. He worked with Graham Tractor Company for 10 years prior to retiring. He was an avid Racing Fan, having raced in dirt track circuit himself. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Shirley Price Smith; daughters, Susan Shepherd and husband Ernest and Melisa Alvarez and husband Carlos; grandchildren, Tiffany Thomas and husband Grey, Dustin Davis, Samantha Yokeley, Michaela Albright and Amanda Albright; great granddaughter, Lennox Thomas; sisters, Sylvia Ward and husband James “Bubba”, Barbara Griffin and Joyce Bowers and husband William “Rat”; brothers Jimmy Smith and wife Stephanie and Gary Smith and wife Tracy, and many loving nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday December 9, 2017 at the Hope Church on Davis St. in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until service time at the Church on Saturday. McClure Funeral Service of Mebane are assisting he family
