Michael "Mike" Wayne Huey

Mr. Michael Wayne “Mike” Huey, 55, of Mebane died July 10, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mike was born in Alamance County on November 19, 1961, the son of Roy Lee Huey and Martha Lucille Talley Thomas, both of whom preceded Mike in death. In addition to his parents, his grandparents, Frank and Lottie Belle Huey also preceded him in death. Mike was a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School, where he played football. He loved fishing, playing golf and was the # 1 fan of the Tarheels. He was employed a machinist. Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie B. Huey; son Zach Huey (Emily) of Mebane; daughter and son-in-law, Meahgan and Tyler Headrick of Sylva; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby Jo and Luana Roberson of Mebane; and uncles, Charles (Linda) Huey of Mebane and Dean Huey of Charleston. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, July 15th at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. The memorial service for Mike will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, July 16th in the chapel of McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Pastor Don Pegg will preside. Honorary pallbearers will be "The Jock Club" Brent Warren, Jeff Wood, Jeff Hudson, Gary Hinson, Tim Covington, Ike Brady, Thomas Purvis, Jeff Whaley, Rex Brann, Scott Mullins and Carl Walker.
