Michelle Ray Clayton

Michelle Ray Clayton, 54, went to be with the Lord surrounded by her family at 10:07pm December 5th 2025 after battling a short sickness. She will be dearly missed by everyone. Michelle was born on June 1, 1971, in Alamance County, the daughter of Sylvia Elaine McGuire and James Bascomb Ray. She was known for the deep love she shared with her husband Weldon Bradsher Clayton (Brad), especially the joy they found riding together on the motorcycle. A proud mom and Memaw, Michelle treasured every moment with her family, adored her dogs, and cherished crafting alongside her sister, Melinda McGuire. She had a lifelong love of Mickey Mouse and all things Disney, and she was famous for the cookies everyone loved. Michelle (Shell) will be remembered for the light she brought into every room, her boundless kindness and selflessness, and remembered for her signature perfectly polished nails.

In addition to her husband Weldon, Michelle is also survived by her: son, Tyler May and wife Elizabeth. Five grandchildren. Sister, Melinda McGuire. Brother, Michael Ray and wife Jennifer. Nieces and nephews: Sean Michael Ray (Amanda), James Tyler Ray, Elizabeth Nicole Cartier, Axel James Easter (Emily) Alexsa Easter Warren (Alec), and Bryce Lane Easter (Sidney).

A funeral service will be Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be Rev. Brian Biggers. The burial will follow in Blaylock Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday evening.
