Mickey Gordon Elmore

Mickey(Mick) Gordon Elmore, age 70, of Efland, North Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2026.  Mick was born on August 20, 1955, in Alamance County to the late Henry Gordon Elmore and Lois Walker Elmore. He spent his life rooted in the values he learned growing up—hard work, kindness, and faith.

He was the devoted husband of Susan with whom he shared eight years of marriage filled with love, companionship, and faith, who he leaves along with; his step children Haley and Preston, his brother Jason (Debra )and his beloved nieces, Katelyn, Jordan and Tina and nephew Sammy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gloria; his brother, Michael ;his daughter, Brooke ; and his infant granddaughter, Brooklyn, all of whom he now joins in eternal rest.

Mick worked as a heavy machinery mechanic at Gregory Pool, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and pride in doing a job well. To those who knew him, Mick was the definition of Southern hospitality—kind, welcoming, and always willing to lend a hand. Above all else, his first love was Jesus, and his faith guided the way he lived and treated others.

Mickey was also an avid animal lover. He leaves behind three dogs and five cats who were truly part of his family and will miss him dearly, just as all who knew and loved him will.

Mickey’s legacy lives on through his faith, his love for family, and the quiet strength he showed every day. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at McClure Funeral Service in Mebane.  A Celebration of Mick's Life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Mebane.
