Mildred Elizabeth Efland

EFLAND, N.C. - Mrs. Mildred Elizabeth Laws Efland, 95, passed away on Wednesday April 16, 2014. She is a native of Orange County, NC and was the daughter of the late Charlie and Eunice Harris Laws. She was a longtime member of Efland Presbyterian Church.She is survived by her children, Kay Carroll, Marilyn Liner and husband David, Madison Efland and wife Phyllis, and Gail Wilkerson and husband Claiborn; 11 grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; 17 great- grandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren, and her sister, Elma Mebane.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Efland; granddaughter, Shelly Wilkerson Chandler; brother, Marvin Laws, and son-in-law, Lee Carroll.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at the Efland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cheryl Henry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with her grandsons as pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane, and at other times at the residence of the family.A special thank you is extended to her caregivers, Betty Glasgow, Linda Thorpe, Myra Jones, Laurie Hammond, Darlene Scott, and Jeweletta Clark.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Efland Presbyterian Church at 3700 U.S. 70, Efland, NC 27243 or to the Duke Homecare and Hospice at 4321 Medical Park Drive, Suite 101, Durham, NC 27704.
