Mildred (Newton) Gallagher

Mildred Newton Gallagher, 98, passed away on March 29, 2023.  She was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy Newton.  Mildred was an avid UNC Tarheel fan and worked at Granville Towers for 34 years.  Left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles Gallagher and his wife Elaine; sister, Alma Renn; two grandchildren; six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and one on the way.  Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Newton Jr.; sister, Alease Wortham and a grandson Brian Tyler Gallagher.  A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday April 4, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church 1000 West Main Street, Carrboro, NC 27510.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10am-11am.  A graveside committal service will follow at 2pm on Tuesday in Sunset Gardens 3174 US-158 BUS, Henderson, NC 27537.
