Myrtle Conway Cates

GRAHAM - Myrtle Conway Cates departed this life for her heavenly home April 4, 2014. She was the wife of Johnie Allen Cates for 73 years. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Effie Edwards Conway of Durham, N.C.She devoted her life to her church, family and the elderly. Myrtle was owner and operator of Sunnyside Manor for 11 years. She retired in 2000 from Rehabilitation and Healthcare after 20 years of dedicated service. She is survived by her husband and four children, Robert (Bobby) Cates, Jo Ann Bridges, Linda Norton and Nancy Morrison; 15 grandchildren; 29 great- grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Benny Ray Cates; and two sisters, Beulah Mizell and Mary Hinsdale.The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Bethel Baptist Church in Graham with Pastor James Black and Pastor David Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service. Burial will take place in Alamance Memorial Park.The family would like to thank Crystal, Phoebe, Loudelle, Rosa and Holly from Hospice of Alamance-Caswell for their love and care of our mother during her sickness.Online condolences may be sent at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net -
