Nadine Virginia (Goad) West

Nadine Virginia GOAD West died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Durham, NC, Cindy West Rigsbee, surrounded by her family on June 28th at the age of 91. She fought a courageous battle with cancer but always kept a smile on her face. Nadine West was born in Ontario, Canada and resided in Virginia and North Carolina her entire life. She worked for various retail stores as a salesclerk. Nadine was a loving wife to Joel Adolphus West Jr., mother to her children, and had a special place in her heart for her 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.  She loved spending time with her family, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and going to casinos. She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Leonard Goad and mother, Clellie Estelle Ellington Goad, her sister Eva Ann Goad, brothers Robert Lee Goad and David Lane Goad, and her husband Joel Adolphus West Jr.  She is survived by her children: Michael Joel West and wife Joann T West of Jensen Beach, Florida, Cindy West Rigsbee and husband Roger Rigsbee of Durham, NC. Her grandchildren: Elizabeth (Beth) Ann Rigsbee, Jessica Michele West Sadler, Erica Joel West, and Rebecca Victoria West Dodd (Jonathan). Her sister Gayle Iris Goad Fleming and brother Henry Wayne Goad. Her great grandchildren Isabella Grace Sadler, Seth Hudson Sadler, twins Charles Henry Sadler and Hattie Temprance Sadler, Michaela Joel Stout, Sophia Hughes Stout, Benjamin Robert Stout, Giuliana MacKenzie Dodd, and Lorelei Elizabeth Dodd The viewing will be at McClure Funeral Home 1308 S Third Street in Mebane, NC at 1:00pm on Saturday June 29th, Service at 2:00pm and burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane, NC.  Please send any flowers or arrangements to McClure Funeral Service.
