Nannie L. Solomon

MEBANE, NC - Nannie Lee Wheeley Solomon, 96, of Mebane, died December 23, 2016 at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell. Mrs. Solomon was born in Person County on November 23, 1920, the daughter of William O. and Emily Jane Harris Wheeley. During her working career she was employed by Copeland Yarn Mill in Haw River, and also worked for the Alamance County Schools system. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she enjoyed taking care of. Mrs. Solomon was a member of the Mebane Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Mrs. Solomon is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Michael of Mebane; her son, Elbert Franklin Solomon of Mebane; a very special cousin that she raised, Lottie Robertson of Mebane; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren. The service to celebrate Mrs. Solomon's life will be held at 11 o'clock, Tuesday morning, December 27, 2016 in the Mebane Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 150 Ashbury Blvd. Mebane. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 – 10:45 am Tuesday at the church, and at other times at the Elbert Solomon residence.
