GRAHAM - Mr. Nathan "Shorty" Levi Price, 84, of 720 Cheeks Lane, died 8:10 a.m. Saturday January 18, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Durham, NC after 1 year of failing health and 2 weeks of critical illness. Born in Alamance County he was the son of the late Samuel and Eula Davis Price. Shorty served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Upon his discharge from the Air Force he worked for Western Electric as an engineer and attended Bethany Presbyterian Church. Woodworking was a hobby that Shorty enjoyed as he continually worked to fine tune his craft with wood, he was an avid golfer and helped start the ARC Program for the handicapped. Surviving him are his wife Euphrozine Wilson Price of the home, son Dale Lee Price of the home, grandchildren Miranda Leigh Price, Timothy Boyd Price and Samuel DeWayne Price, great grandchildren Jonathan Cox, Jered Cox, Kyleigh Price, Greyson Price and Nathan Price. Sister Edith Hill of Sparks, Nevada, Brothers C. Donald Price of Alamogordo, NM and Thomas B. Price of Mebane.Preceding him in death other than his parents was a daughter Carol Jean Price, sisters Mable Allison, Mannie Porter, Lillie Davis, brothers William G. Price and Joseph H. Price.The family will receive friends at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham Tuesday January 21, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and other times at the residence.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday January 22, 2014 in the McClure Chapel in Graham with the Reverend John Johnson and Reverend Norman Whitney officiating. Burial will follow in the Alamance Memorial Park, Burlington, NC.
