Olivia Manning

Mrs. Olivia Hill Manning, 86, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at Alamance Healthcare Center in Burlington. She was born in Durham County to the late Jesse T. and Annie Maynor Hill. She had worked with Kayser-Roth for over 35 years. She enjoyed writing poems and songs which she would always memorize to share with friends and family. She and her husband loved taking trips to the mountains and she was known for being a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Thomas Alton Manning, of the home; daughters, Judy Pierce, of Hillsborough and Barbara M. Mills and husband Mark, of Snow Camp; sons, Mark Manning and wife Bonnie, of Mebane, Lester “Peanut” Marlow and wife Kim, of Hillsborough, and Jimmy Marlow, of Burlington; 10 grandchildren and many loving great grandchildren; sister, Doris Tackett, of Chapel Hill and brothers, Gene Hill, of Chapel Hill and Glenn Hill, of Pittsboro. In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Margie Ann Marlow; grandchildren, Chris Marlow and Heather Manning; sisters, Dorothy Campbell and Diane Parks. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 20, 2018 at the Mebane Memorial Gardens with the Pastor Sammy Ballard officiating. The family will be at the residence of Mark and Bonnie Manning at other times. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
