2 Cor 5:8
We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.
Patricia A. Shaw (O’Connor), age 77, a beloved wife, sister, daughter, and friend went home to be with the Lord on March 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She resided in Mebane with her sister Barbara and grandnieces Jazimyn and Madisyn who lovingly adored her.
She was born Jan, 12 1949 in N.W Washington, DC to William and Frances O’Connor. She married Kenneth Shaw in 1984 in Washinton, DC.
Patty loved nature and shared that love with her sisters growing up. She loved to be around people and share her quick wit. She had a smile that would brighten up a room. She was always the one to keep everyone laughing. She enjoyed life immensely! She didn’t let the trials of this life influence her love for the Lord and others. She always loved it when her Pastor would sing her favorite song ‘Amazing Grace’. She will be greatly missed.
Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ken; her mother, Frances; her father, Bill; her brother Billy. Her memory will be cherished by her sisters, Judy, Maria and Barbara; her nieces, nephews, many grandnieces and grandnephews.
The Celebration of Life service will be at Calvary Chapel Hill, 1129 Weaver Dairy Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27514 on Saturday, Apil 18, 2026 at 1:00pm. Her ashes will be inurned with her husband’s ashes at Arlington National Cemetery.
A Poem written by a close friend:
Sister Patti
+++++
Our sorrow is deep, at the passing of a saint
There will be a void here on earth since she has departed
We’ll miss her cheery smile and clever wit
Such a humble and thankful person, our loving sister Patti
She has gone to be with our loving Savior Jesus
With open arms, He’s welcomed her to heaven
And the angelic hosts are settling her in
To worship and praise Him forever more
We should be happy that she is now where she belongs
Her suffering here, was so hard to understand
Her faith was unshaken and openly clear
Thanks to God that her earthly pain is forever gone
Our hope is in the time when we’ll see Her again
Thank you God, for Patti in our lives
Amen
