Paul David Abernathy

Paul David Abernathy, 71, of Mebane died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at his residence. He was a native of Thomasville, retired from Bell South and served in the US Air Force and retired as a reservist in the Army National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Cleo Abernathy; brother, Bill Abernathy. He is survived by his daughters, Nicole Abernathy Sessoms of Mebane, Laurie Abernathy Newlin of Burlington; son, Tony Abernathy of Hawaii; grandchildren, Tyson Sessoms, Olivia Sessoms, Samantha Newlin, Jake Abernathy, Luke Abernathy and Zack Abernathy; Sisters, Peggy Ferguson of SC and Frances (David) Brooks of Freemont. A service to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Pastor David Brooks. Burial with military honors will follow in Mebane Memorial Gardens.
