Graham Paul Edward Willoughby, 67, of 4117 Swepsonville-Saxapahaw Road, Graham died Monday, February 9 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. He was a native of Hamlet, NC, a former employee of Cortina Fabrics, of the Baptist faith and a US Army veteran of Vietnam and he volunteered to return for nine months where he received numerous metals for his service to his country. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lillie Mae Willoughby and a brother, Curtis Willoughby. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Trudy Mayr Willoughby of the home; sons, David Willoughby of Snow Camp and Dale Willoughby of Graham; daughters, Elizabeth Willoughby of Mebane and Debbie Willoughby of Graham; brothers, Earl Willoughby of Whitsett and Johnny Willoughby of Durham; sisters, Barbara Wynn of Burlington and Betty Sue of Graham; Eleven grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Thursday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham by Rev. Tommy Marley. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the residence on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and palliative Care Center of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215. The family of Mr. Willoughby would like to extend a special Thank you to Dr. Choksi and staff at the ARMC Cancer Center as well as the Nurses at the Hospice Home for their love, care, and compassion during this difficult time.
