BURLINGTON - Pauline Satterfield Miller, 73, passed away Sept. 14, 2015 at Beacon Place in Greensboro after many years of battling cancer.She was retired from the Alamance County School System after serving the community for over 30 years teaching. She was a great mentor for all teachers who came in contact with her and instilled the need to be there for students in and out of the classroom. She was a member of the NEA, NCAE, the Alamance-Burlington Association of Educators and she held various offices in those organizations. She was also a delegate to the National Convention of NEA, served as membership Chairman for Alamance-Burlington Retired School Personnel, and was a member of the Democratic Women of Alamance County.She was a member of St. Marks Church, where she was a member of small groups and volunteered in the welcome center. Pauline was an avid Bridge player and played in multiple Bridge clubs. She loved spending time with her grandson and her family and friends. Throughout her struggles, she was always positive and inspired us all with her smile and strong faith.Survivors include her daughter, Terri Bonham (Jim) of Greensboro; grandson, Jameson Bonham; and a sister, Sandra Rogers (Zollie) of Advance.She was preceded in death by her parents, Eleanor Herritage and Hubert Satterfield; brother, Ronald Satterfield; and a sister, Sherri Garrett.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at St. Marks Church with Bob Disher and Ben Bishop officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Marks Church, 1230 St. Marks Church Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to Beacon Place, 2502 Summit Ave., Greensboro, NC 27405.
