MEBANE - Pauline "Polly" Alease Christopher Webster, Oct. 23, 1920 – Jan. 10, 2015, of 515 Woodlawn Road, at age 94, joined her Maker peacefully. She loved her family and home and was the caring wife of 67 years to the late John Clyde Webster. "Family – the heart of so many happy memories." In her Bible, Polly wrote, "God is good. He has held me up and gave me the strength that I need each day. Always trust in the Lord and He will see you through." Mama found beauty in the small things and in her creative way, was able to make something from nothing her whole life. Polly is wrapped in Clyde's loving arms as they embrace daughters Barbara J. Webster and Melinda W. McClung, son-in-law Joe Pleckaitis, her parents Mozelle and Herbert Christopher, her sister Doris Graves and sister-in-law Ida Cheek, all in Heaven.She is survived by daughters, Rosemary Pleckaitis, Susan West (Mel) and Jane W. Deese (Ray Smith). Polly was "Grandma" to nine grandchildren, Karma, John, Candace, Allison, Chris, Christina, Natalie, Alana and Chelsea. She was great-grandma to 17, Teresa, Iesha, Gregory, Darien, Derick, Katie, Leanne, Gracie, Noah, Lukas, Wilson, Griffin, Dermot, Davis, Clyde, Gavin and Kiersten. Her sisters-in-law are Ruby Rudd, Helen Moss and Nancy Wrenn. She has been loved by her faithful puppy "Sugar" for almost 10 years. Polly attended the old Woodlawn School, Mebane High School and was a lifelong member of the Mebane Presbyterian Church and the Woodlawn Community. Services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at noon in the Mebane Presbyterian Church with visitation immediately following. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Home, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215 or to the Mebane Presbyterian Church, 402 South 5th St., Mebane, NC 27302.
