Peggy Barnwell

Mrs. Peggy Lou Barts Barnwell, 74 of Sapphire, NC formerly of Burlington, NC passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2020 at the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville. A native of Caswell CO, NC, she was the daughter of the late Broadus and Parthernia Westbrooks Barts. Peggy loved to garden, plant flowers, and do craft work of all kinds. Peggy loved conversation and to share stories with family and friends. She loved her family especially when it came to her grandchildren and great grandchildren always making them homemade candy and treats so she could see those smiles. Peggy was one who always put others needs above her own, always willing to help others. Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. “Tommy” Barnwell; her daughter, Teresa Bailey and husband Jimmy; her sons, David Barnwell, Greg Barnwell, and Curtis Barnwell and Fiancé Kay; her loving grandchildren, Chris, Jessica, Andrew, Rebecca, Heather, Elizabeth, Austin, Alia, Amy, Jade, Danielle, and her 5 wonderful great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Foust and Judy Perkins; brother, Allen Barts and her very special and loving dog, Little Bit. A private family service will be held on Monday with burial to follow in Alamance Memorial Park. Mrs. Barnwell will be open to the public on Sunday March 22, 2020 from 12:00 until 5:00 PM at McClure Funeral Service in Graham.
