MEBANE - Peggy Mae Church Bumgarner, 89, of Mebane died Sunday, May 24, 2015 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Wilkes County, she was retired from Dixie Yarns, a member of the Mebane Wesleyan Church and the Zion Hill Pentecostal Church in Wilkesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ruby Mae Cole Church; sister, Pearl Osborn and brothers, Lonnie Church and Ernest Church.She is survived by her husband, W. Paul Bumgarner of the home; daughter, Darlene Waddell of Millers Creek; sons; Kenneth P. Bumgarner of the home and Gary W. Bumgarner and wife Donna of Mebane; sisters, Stella (Ted) Denning and husband Sherrill of Garner, Grace Wadkins of Stocton, GA, Edna Wood and husband Allen of Millers Creek and Geraldine (Jerri) Blackburn and husband Danny of Concord; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 26 at 4 p.m. at Zion Hill Pentecostal Church in Wilkesboro by Kevin Blackburn and the Rev. James Tallent with burial following in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
