Obituary for Peggy Joyce Love Rich

Peggy Joyce Love Rich, 95, of Burlington passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025. She was a native of Dade County, Georgia, a retired sales associate with Belk at Holly Hill Mall and a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church. She is the wife of the late William Monroe “Bill” Rich, Jr. and the daughter of the late Leonard C. & Mary Hibbs Love. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Jean Fayne and H.F. Love; by nephews, Joel Fayne and Gregory Heath.  She was a 1949 Graduate of Burlington High School.  Peggy loved her church, enjoyed sewing, doing various crafts, and playing cards.

Peggy is survived by her 2 sisters, Virgie (Graham-dec.) Heath of Angier and Shirley (Bobby) Bristow of Burlington, 9 loving nieces and nephews, Michael Fayne, Sandy Crotts, Donna Heath, Kenneth (Sharon) Love, Cathy (James) Reder, Pam (Patrick) Tanner, Karen (Benny-dec.) Ross, Angie (Gene) Fishel, Tina (Bill) Porter and several great nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday June 12 at Emmanuel United Methodist Church by Pastor Josh Abraham. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 to 1:45 before the service.
