Peter Schledorn

Peter Schledorn passed at age 75 in his home, surrounded by family, on October 21, 2026. He is survived by his wife, Judith Lassiter Schledorn, his son Neil, and his daughters Monica Bennett and Cassandra Norris, his grandsons Carlin, and RJ, and his granddaughters Mara and Emmaline. He was preceded in death by his wife Deborah and his daughter Eileen.  He was born in Farmingdale NY and moved with his wife Deborah to North Carolina where he started a 35 year career in the UNC system. His final position was as Director of IT in Research Administration for NC State University. He remarried in 2010 and moved to Swepsonville. Peter was a lover of good food and drink. He loved old movies, especially noirs, silent films, and the Marx Brothers. He also made sure to celebrate Beethoven’s birthday every year and enjoyed listening to many different versions of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. He will be sorely missed by friends and family. There will be no visitation or formal service, but the family will hold a private celebration of life at a date to be determined.
