Providencio Garcia

MEBANE - Mr. Providencio Garcia, 91, passed away on Aug. 14, 2013 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was a veteran of World War II, where he was part of the 1st Infantry Division of the U.S. Army. He was in the first wave of the Normandy invasion. He was a loving active member of Harvest Hills Church of God.Survivors include son, Pancho Garcia and wife Helen, of Mebane; four grandchildren, Philomena, Maria, Lucille, and Richard; eight great-grandchildren, Shane, Paul, Andrew, Caleb, Jacob, Evan, Sarah and Brielle; and five great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Coby, Elizabeth, Ally and Paul Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lilian Garcia. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 20th at 2:00 p.m., at Harvest Hill Church of God, 3110 Maple Ave., Burlington, NC 27215. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Russell Morris.
