Rachel Kimball Ray

Mrs. Rachel Kimball Ray 93, of Mebane, NC passed away on Easter Sunday April 20, 2025 at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill. A native of Alamance Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late William Lawrence Kimball and Lucy Thompson Kimball. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all. She enjoyed quilting with the Cedar Grove Quilting Friends as well as quilting with her friends at Mebane Presbyterian Church. Rachel was a member of Mebane Presbyterian Church for over 60 years where she loved her Church and Church family. She retired from K-Mart with 19 years of service. Survivors include her loving children, Barbara Ray Kueider and husband Mike, Terry Ray Hoggard and husband Ricky, Jeanette Ray and husband John, and Ralph Edward Ray; a son in law, Robert Dove and 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph C. Ray; a daughter, Linda Ray Dove; a grandson, Eric Ray Sibley, her sisters, Ruth Moon, Edith Lineberry, Sarah Kimball, and Georgia Baker; her brothers, Kyle Kimball, Cortez Kimball, and Herbert Kimball. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday April 25, 2025 at the Mebane Presbyterian Church with the Pastor Tom Clymer officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the church on Friday and other times at the residence of the family.
