Randy Thomas Foster

Randy Thomas Foster, 68, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023, surrounded by family at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. Born to the late Earl and Hazel Foster on December 2, 1954, at Vereen Memorial Hospital, Randy was born and raised in Moultrie, GA. Randy worked for Hubbell Diecasting for 36 years, ending his career there as a Maintenance Supervisor when the plant shutdown in 2009. He then attended Moultrie Technical College Tifton Campus to obtain his Commercial Driving License and worked for David I. Peterson Inc. providing fuel to patrons in and around Moultrie for 7 years until retiring in 2017. Randy and his wife, LaDene, moved to Graham, NC in 2020 to live closer to their daughter, Rachael. Randy was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing the flats and deep sea of the Florida Panhandle. After moving to North Carolina, he developed a love for fishing the local lakes of Alamance County and surrounding areas. Other passions Randy enjoyed were working in his shop, golf, NASCAR, and football. He will always be remembered for his fun-loving and tenacious spirit. Randy is survived by his wife, LaDene Foster of Graham, NC, as well as daughter, Rachael Foster (Danny) of Graham, NC; his stepson, Michael Mercer of Oklahoma City, OK; his sister, Diane Lanier of Moultrie, GA; his nieces Nikki Wilson (Ed) of Moultrie, GA and Lacey Herndon (Heath) of Moultrie, GA; his nephew, Landon Lanier of Moultrie, GA; and many great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals (Chapel Hill).

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UNC Hospital for their mindfulness, support and compassion while caring for Randy.
