Renate De Irureta-Goyena

Mrs. Renate de Irureta Goyena, 93 of Burlington NC died on January 9, 2025 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro.

A native of Wittenberg, Germany, she was the wife of the late Dr. Antonio de Irureta-Goyena y Reyes.

Survivors include a niece, Silke Hagen and nephew Niels Hagen of Germany.  She is also survived by her “person” Suzanne Perry who was her caregiver over the past many years as well as many friends whom she held dear.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Antonio de Irureta-Goyena y Reyes of Burlington, parents Mr. Walter Hagen and Mrs. Lucie Krause Hagen and her brother Mr. Claus-Dieter Hagen all of Germany.

A memorial service will be conducted at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Saturday, March 1, 2025, beginning at 2:00PM by the Reverend Bob Hawkins.

There will be no visitation.
