Richard "Rick" Arlen Ford

Mr. Richard Arlen “Rick” Ford, 72, of Mebane, NC passed away on Saturday October 8, 2016 at the Hospice Home in Burlington. A native of Caswell County, NC, he was the son of the late Charlie H. and Stella Moore Ford. He was retired from AT&T with 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors as well as a tremendous wood worker as he was always working on things for family and friends. He was an avid UNC Tar Heels fan no matter what sport was being played. Rick was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 1st Infantry but most importantly he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many. Survivors include his wife Linda Edwards Ford, of the Home; sons, Tony Ford, of Durham, Todd Ford, of Burlington and Jeremy Ford, of Mebane; granddaughter, Anna Grooms, of Graham; sister, Barbara Ford Cheek, of Burlington and a brother, Dan Ford, of Mebane and many loving extended family members. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Janet Marie Ford. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday October 12, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.
