Richard Paul “Ricky” Sykes, 55, of Haw River, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Ricky was a native of Alamance County. He was self employed in Tree Service. He was a member of Breakthrough Community Church. He loved racing cars at the local tracks. He loved his family and his church very much. Rick is survived by his wife; Tammy Layton Sykes of the home. Sons; Lucas Paul Sykes and Justin Dixon both of the home. Parents; Lester Thomas Sykes and Delois Stapleton Davis. Step father; Danny Davis, Sr. Brothers; Jim Sykes, Harold Sykes, J.W. Sykes, and Pee Wee Sykes. Sisters; Carolyn Vaughn, Tammy Maye, Bobbie Sweeney, Vivian Crawford, Connie Horner, Becky Troxler. Step Brother; Danny Davis, Jr. Step sister; Annette Carroll. He was preceded in death by his step mother; Gladys Sykes. A funeral service will be held Friday, October 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Breakthrough Community Church in Mebane. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Thursday evening at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Other times they will be at the residence.
